Relationship Therapy

Our intimate relationships can bring us the most joy and the most difficulty.

Each partner brings their own history and way of communicating to a relationship. At the beginning of the relationship there is often excitement and curiosity about learning our partner's history and finding ways to communicate that seem special. Over time our histories can end up getting in the way of truly seeing and connecting with our partner(s), causing difficulties in the relationship(s). These difficulties are often what bring couples to seek therapy.

Relationship therapy (aka Couples therapy) gives each partner an opportunity to reconnect to each other in a space where each person can feel heard. We'll explore how each partner hears what the other is saying and how unintentional misinterpretations can lead to disconnection. Through careful and thoughtful exploration, a new, more connected relationship can emerge.

Although I most commonly work with couples, I welcome other relationship configurations (ex. triads or polycules) as well.

The hardest-learned lesson: that people have only their kind of love to give, not our kind.
