About Me

Originally from the Upper Midwest, I received a B.A. in psychology from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. While completing my psychology coursework I also took almost every gender and sexuality-related sociology course offered resulting in a Sociology minor.

After moving to San Francisco, CA in 2005, I spent several years working in non-profits, tech startups, and a large tech company.

I completed my master’s in counseling from the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2013. After completing my graduate studies, I opened a part-time private practice. In addition to my private practice, I also worked as an assistant clinical director at a program for adults suffering from acute mental health crises and at a residential treatment program for adults struggling with substance abuse and co-occuring mental health issues. In October 2020, I decided to focus full-time on my private practice to help adults with a wider variety of problems as the COVID-19 pandemic continued to evolve.

I am a professional member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), Bay Area Open Minds, Gaylesta: The Psychotherapist Association for Gender and Sexual Diversity, and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). I continue to take workshops and seek certifications in various psychotherapy modalities.
